Ebba Jacobsson • vocals
Ebba Jacobsson grew up in Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast. Currently she lives in Stockholm where she studied at the Royal College of Music. She graduated in 2004 with a degree in traditional Swedish vocal music and education.
An upbringing in a family with great music interests brought Ebba to singing and music at an early age. Ebba fondly remembers her childhood, when she would sit in her grandmother’s lap and they would sing together from the Swedish book of Psalms. The local music school was the obvious choice for Ebba where choir singing, piano, guitarr and flute playing attracted her attention. Since then she has studied music for several years in both Sweden and Norway.
Ebba’s repertoire spans traditional vocal music from all over Sweden, but in recent years she has focused on music from western Sweden and in particular Bohuslän. Her greatest role model for traditional Swedish singing is Lena Larsson (1882-1967), who lived in southern Bohuslän and left us a fantastic treasure of songs.
